Matrimony Id and Password

What is Matrimony ID,

A Matrimony ID is a unique combination of an alphabet and a six or seven digit number (for example: A123456). To identify you uniquely, a Matrimony ID is assigned to you when you register with us. This Matrimony ID is to be referred in all correspondence with Damaadbahu.com.

How do I Login?

Under the "Member Login" section, enter your "Matrimony ID" and "Password" in the respective boxes and click on the "Login" button to login to your account.

You can also login using the email address you provided at the time of registration, instead of the Matrimony ID

I forgot my Matrimony ID / Password. What should I do?

Click on the "Forgot Password" link in the home page and enter your "E-mail address" or "Matrimony ID". Your "Matrimony ID" and "Password" will be mailed to you immediately.

Your Email address should be the one given in your profile.

How do I change my password?
  • Login using your "Matrimony / Email ID" and "Password".

  • On the "My Matrimony" page in the left navigation bar below the "My Profile" subhead, Click on "Change Password".

  • Enter your current password.

  • Enter your new password and confirm the same. Click on "Change Password" button.

  • Your new password will be activated immediately and can be used from the next time you login

Why am I not able to login? Why is the message "Invalid Matrimony ID / E-mail ID" or "Incorrect Password" being displayed?

  • The password you have entered might be wrong. Alternatively, you might be having the CAPS LOCK "On". Please check whether the password is entered in the correct case (Upper or Lower).

  • Please ensure that there are no spaces in the Matrimony ID typed. For e.g., it should be A123456 not A 1234 56.

  • If you have forgotten your password, please click on the "Forgot Password" link to retrieve the same.

  • The E-mail ID you are using to login must be the same one with which you had registered on the website. Alternate E-mail IDs will not function

To upgrade your profile to Classic Super / Classic Plus / Classic membership, you need to become a paid member. This provides you with more features than the Free membership. The payment can be made at any of our offices through cash, cheque or DD/MO. We also accept online payments through credit card / debit card / net banking. Online payment is the easiest, fastest and secured mode of payment. Besides, we have a payment collection at doorstep facility in select cities, at no extra charge.

What is the difference between Free membership and Paid (Classic Super / Classic Plus / Classic) membership?

Free members can only send an automated message to another member through use the "Express Interest" option to. They can also respond to messages from Classic Super / Classic Plus / Classic members.

Classic Super / Classic Plus / Classic members are paid members who have several privileged features, such as personalized contact with any member across the 15 portals, free classified in leading publications, double verified phone numbers, profile highlighting, etc., depending on their type of membership.

What are the different modes of payment?

We accept online payments through credit card / debit card / net banking. Online payment is the easiest, fastest and secured mode of payment. How do I add my profile? Click on the link Register Profile Free

The form to add your profile will be displayed. Give all the necessary as well as optional details asked in the form. Click on the submit button.

Give as many details as possible, including your contact details in full. This will increase the chances of your profile being displayed when our members search for matches.

After you submit your information, your profile will be automatically created and you shall be given a "Matrimony ID" generated for future references.

All the profiles are validated before inclusion in the database. It may take up to 24 hours for the validation. An e-mail would be sent to you once the profile is added.

The profiles are validated for statutory regulations of the site to avoid pornography and various other factors and to have uniformity in the database.

Try to give a clear self-description and a complete picture of what you expect. A good description will always fetch instant responses. Free members can view all your details except e-mail address and telephone number.

Paid members can view all your details including telephone number.

Your e-mail address will not be visible to any member, be it free or paid. It is solely for us to get in touch with you. However, you can contact members via e-mail through Damaadbahu.com.

To hide your profile On the "My Matrimony" page, select the "Hide/Delete" option in the left navigation bar below the "My Profile" subhead.

On the Hide/Delete profile page, click on the "hide your profile" link.

In the "Hide profile page" select "On hold" and click on "Set profile Status"

Your profile will not be visible to other members.

In spite of being a hidden member, you can view/contact other members.

On the "My Matrimony" page click on the "Modify Profile" option in the left navigation bar below the "My Profile" subhead.

You can modify the profile contents that are displayed and confirm it by clicking on the "Modify Profile" button.

Delete Profile:How do I delete my profile?

To delete your profile:

Login using your "Matrimony ID" and "Password". (How do I login?)

Select the "Delete Profile" option under "Profiles" section in the left navigation and enter the reason for deletion.

Click on the "Yes" button. Your profile will be deleted immediately.

Is it possible to restore the deleted profile?

Your profile once deleted from our database cannot be restored/reactivated.

Search / View Profile What are the types of Search?

Quick Search - It is a convenient way to search for a list of prospective partners based on a few basic fields.

Search by Matrimony Id - If you are looking for someone in specific and know their Matrimony ID then this search is the best.

Regular Search - This is the regular search that allows you to search for members based on age/ language/caste/height etc.

Advanced Search - This search allows you to find members more specific to your preference.

"Who is online" Search - Search for members based on your preference and are currently online.

How can I save my Search criteria so that I don't have to set it every time?

You can save your search criteria. You can have up to 3 saved searches that can be used later.

How do I view a particular profile?

Enter the matrimony ID of the profile, and click on the "View Matrimony" button. The profile details will be displayed.

I get the error "No matching records found" while searching for the profiles. Why is that so?

Please check your search criteria. If you are searching for a particular sub caste, try rephrasing your spellings. We suggest you to use partial names or try all the possible spellings in the sub caste field, for example: Brahmin, Bramin, Iyer, etc. to get profiles of a particular sub caste.

If you have used date options in the search, please check the dates entered. For Example, in the "When Posted" option ensure that you have not entered a future date by mistake.

Free and non member

What is the use of free membership?

A free membership is ideal for starters. As a free member, you can Post your profile Add your photo to it (optional), Receive mails of matching profiles Use "Express Interest" to send an automated message expressing your interest to a member.

You can receive messages from Classic Super / Classic Plus / Classic members and you can reply to their messages. The messages sent by Classic Super / Classic Plus / Classic members will be stored in your "Received Messages" folder in your "Matrimony account" directly along with their e-mail address and other contact information (if they have mentioned). You can login to your account to check the received messages.

Free members will be intimated through e-mails about the profiles matching their "Partner Preference" criteria.

I'm a free member. Can I send personalized messages to a member? No. Only Classic Super / Classic Plus / Classic Members can send personalized messages. However, Free Members can use "Express Interest" to send an automated message expressing interest to a member.

Also if a Classic Super / Classic Plus / Classic member contacts you, their message will be stored in your "Received Messages" folder directly along with their e-mail address and other contact information (if they have mentioned). You will be intimated via email whenever a Classic Super / Classic Plus / Classic member contacts you. However, it is advisable to login as often to the site and check your messages received rather than depending on email notifications.

Is there a limit on the number of Express Interest messages I can send in a day?

You can send unlimited "Express Interest" messages to anyone you choose, but only until you receive five acceptance replies. However, you can accept any number of 'Express Interest' messages sent to you by other members.

How do I get in touch with members of my interest?

Login using your "Matrimony/email ID" and "Password" (How do I login?)

To search for profiles, click on the "Search" option in the top navigation bar or use the "Quick Search" in the left navigation link and enter your preferences.

In the search results page, you can click on the "Express Interest" link provided.

Clicking on the "Express Interest" link will open a new window. Select any one of the automated Express Interest messages and click on the "Send" button to send an automated message to the member, expressing your interest.

How will I know if a member has accepted/declined my interest?

You will be notified via email if the member accepts your interest. You can also login to your account and select the "Interests Sent" option under Express Interest to know how many members have accepted/declined your interest.

No. Only an automated message expressing your interest will be sent to the member without revealing your contact information.

Can I "Express Interest" in a member more than once?

Yes, you can send "Express Interest" messages to a member until they "Decline" your interest. However, you cannot send anymore 'Express interest' messages to anyone if you have received five acceptance replies already.

How do I accept/decline a member's interest?

You will receive an E-mail from Damaadbahu.com intimating you of a member's interest.

If you are a free member: To accept the member's interest, click on the "ACCEPT" button.

If you are not interested click on the "DECLINE" button.

If you are a Classic Super / Classic Plus / Classic member:
To accept the member's interest and send personalized messages, login to your account and use the "Contact this Profile" option.

If you are not interested click on the "DECLINE" button.

Can I "Decline" a member's interest that I have already accepted?

Yes, you can "Decline" a member's interest, which you have accepted earlier. Although, you can only "Decline" from the "Express Interest" alert mailer received from that particular member, not from your "Express Interest Accepted List" in your "My Matrimony" page.

Is it possible to accept a declined interest?

Yes it is possible to accept a declined interest. Go to "My Matrimony" page and click on the "Interest Received" link in the left navigation bar and click on the "Declined List". Select the profile you want to "Accept" and click on the "Accept" button.

How can I view all the Express Interests I have made?

You could view all the Express Interest messages by clicking on the "Interest Received" or "Interest Sent" on the "My Message" page. Express Interest Pending - View a list of all the Express Interests you have made or received that are pending so you can take a relevant action.

Express Interest Declined - View a list of all the Express Interests you have made or received that have been declined.

Express Interest Accepted - View a list of all the Express Interests you have made or received that have been accepted so that you can take further action.

Click on the "Upload Photo" link under the space reserved for your Photo.

You will be taken to the Add Photo Page

Click on the "Upload Photo" link

Click the 'Browse' button and select the digital photo (in JPG /GIF format) you wish to add to your profile.

Click on "Add Photo" to add the photo to your profile.

The photo will be added as your Main Photo. You now have the option of adding up to 3 photos to your profile. You can also manage your photos and decide which should be your main photo.

How do I protect my photo?

To ensure your privacy, you can protect your photo with a password. You can give the password to prospective alliances upon communication.

  • Login using your "Matrimony / Email ID" and "Password"

  • Click on the "Upload Photo" link under the space reserved for your Photo.

  • Select the "Yes" button under the "Protect Photo" subhead.

  • Enter your photo password (different from profile password) and re-enter it for confirmation. Click on the "Submit" button.

  • Please note that this option is available only for Classic Super / Classic Plus / Classic members.

If a member has not added his/her photo that you'd like to view, you could request the member to add it. Please note you can Request Photo only if you have added your photo.

I did not receive any response for my profile. Why?

On an average, around 1% of the profiles are entered with misspelled E-mail address or wrong E-mail address. If you have not received any E-mail from our system, please login using your "Matrimony / E-mail ID" and "Password" on the home page and click on the Modify Profile option to correct the E-mail address. Also, check whether you have given a clear self-description.

Try to enter your expectations clearly and completely.

Add your photo to your profile as profiles with photos get a better response.
